Sydney-based Rohde & Schwarz (Australia) Pty Ltd has announced the appointment of Gareth Evans has its new Managing Director.

Evans comes to Rohde & Schwarz from his previous role as Executive General Manager, Technology Services at SYSTRA Scott Lister. He has more than 20 years’ experience in the defence, aerospace and transportation sectors, and has held management positions in engineering and business in global and medium-sized enterprises.

Rohde & Schwarz (Australia) Pty Ltd has had an Australian presence since 1981, and operates in various market segments with its information and communications technology solutions. It offers system engineering and integration, project management, capability sustainment and service support (including in-country accredited repair and calibration lab) solutions throughout the region.

The company designed and delivered the external communications system for the Royal Australian Navy’s Hobart Class DDGs, and in July 2018 the Airways Corporation of New Zealand selected Rohde & Schwarz to provide a new nationwide air traffic control (ATC) communications system.
