Boeing celebrated the 20th anniversary of the establishment of its Australian defence business headquarters in Brisbane on January 12.
In that time, Boeing Defence Australia has grown to more than 1,500 employees who work across the company’s three business units and its research and development organisations.
“I don’t think many people realise that over the past 20 years, Brisbane has been the birthplace of some of Boeing Defence Australia’s most cutting-edge military systems and technologies,” Boeing Defence Australia General Manager of Operations Chris Smith said in a statement.
“From sophisticated simulation and modelling facilities, to next-generation communications systems and high-tech training technologies – Boeing engineers here in Queensland and across Australia are well-and-truly at the forefront of aerospace innovation.”
