Defence has released a tender for the LAND 8120 Phase 1 requirement for engineering support vehicles for construction, earth-moving and material handling.
Under the project, Defence says it is looking for modified commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solutions with a high degree of Australian industry content and involvement. The tender says the equipment will be used in Australia and overseas for multiple engineering activities including, earthworks, route development and maintenance, airfield construction and repair, port operations, supply and distribution, and beach operations.
The required equipment includes bulldozers, concrete batching plant, cranes, excavators, front-end loaders, graders, rock crushers, rollers, skid-steer loaders and telescopic handlers.
The RFT closes on July 30 2019, tender evaluation and contract negotiations are scheduled for late 2019, and contract signature is planned for the second quarter of 2020.
