Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has announced it is opening an Australian office to share its experience and know-how with Australia’s sovereign defence capabilities.
IAI will present a variety of strategic solutions at the LAND FORCES Expo in Brisbane from June 1-3, including solutions related to information-gathering, surveillance, and communication, as well as a selection of loitering munitions capabilities.
IAI’s participation in LAND FORCES follows last year’s successful demonstration of its autonomous Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) to the Israel Defense Force (IDF) and the Ministry of Defense.
IAI says the CARMEL program focuses on enhanced AI, autonomous and automatic capabilities for current and future combat scenarios, and the ability to manoeuvre in urban environments. It can be operated by a minimum crew of two and is one part of an IAI portfolio of land robotics and vehicles.
“IAI is excited to establish presence in Australia and further cooperation with local industries,” President and CEO of IAI, Boaz Levy said in a statement. “During the LAND FORCES exhibition, IAI will display a wide range of advanced technological systems for the Australian market and we hope to establish new opportunities for the near- and long-term future.”
