The government has launched a review of the national cyber security strategy, as the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) opened in Canberra.
The review, which is set to report its findings within six months, will explore how industry and the government can work together to protect Australian networks.
According to a statement from Prime Minister Tony Abbott, the Cyber Security Review will assess the risk of cyber attacks in the public and private sectors, examine how the government and industry can work together, and assess how the government protects its networks and information. The ACSC has brought together government agencies that are working on cyber security in one location.
“The centre will build an understanding of the threats we face, and help our security agencies respond more quickly and effectively to the growing problem of cyber attacks,” the Prime Minister stated.
